FORECAST: Inching toward record heat!

The Valley is sizzling and an Excessive Heat Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. SaturdayAs the heat builds in, air quality is getting worse. The Phoenix metro area is under a High Pollution Advisory for ozone today. So, if you have respiratory conditions like asthma or COPD, you may want to limit your time outside or you could have difficulty breathing. Try to carpool or take public transportation to prevent the pollution from getting worse.  Valley highs will soar, ending up just a degree or two shy of 110 today and Saturday and that also puts us in record territory. It doesn’t look like we’ll match today’s record of 112, but the record Saturday drops to 110 and we’ll be very close to that one. Temperatures fall a few degrees as we wrap up the weekend. Look for highs near 105 for Sunday and early next week as our forecast stays sunny and dry. A bigger cool-down is in store toward the end of next week.Expect a few more clouds and breezes Wednesday as the next low pressure system approaches. Temperatures then drop to the upper 90s across the Valley next Thursday and Friday. _______________________________________ Share your weather photos and videos with us anytime.
